Meet the Staff

Matt Miles

My name is Matt Miles and I am the Creator and Owner of Central PA Bravest, I was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA and live in Progress with my wife Beth and our three kids Kyler, Matthew and Madasyn.

I was a Fireman with the Progress Fire Company for 20 years and I am currently still a life member. I currently volunteer with the Colonial Park Fire Company which is in the heart of Lower Paxton Township that has a population of 47,000 residents only 2,000 less than Harrisburg City. I am also a career firefighter in Montgomery County, MD and work in the 1st Battalion which borders PG County, Howard County and the District of Columbia.

I have a love and passion for the job and want to pass it on with my fireground images and informational updates. I will also be posting street smart informational articles from Fireman around Central Pa and other areas. My goal from this site is to inspire young viewers who are not yet firefighters and current firefighters to become the Fireman and mentors of our future, with hopes that they will pass on the brotherhood and tradition of our fire service.

I would also like to the thank the STAFF MEMBERS and Correspondents who submit information and photo's because without them this website would not be what it is today! THANK YOU!!!!

In 2007 I achieved my childhood dream and was hired as a career Firefighter in the Lancaster City Bureau of Fire and am assigned to Truck Company 1 on the City's East Side. My fire service career began in Lancaster County and expanded to Progress Fire Co as a live in during my college years. After college I returned to the Lancaster area spending several years as a Chief Officer with Rohrerstown Fire Co and duty crew member of Eden Fire Co. Along with being a career Firefighter I'm also a suppression level instructor for the PA State Fire Academy, Harrisburg Area Community College, and Bucks County Community College. I focus on teaching Truck Co function classes, RIT, Firefighter Survival, and MAYDAY operations. I have a deep passion for the fire service and passing on the pride, honor, traditions, respect, and responsibility that goes along with being a fireman.

Along with having the honor of the greatest job on earth I'm also blessed with the greatest family in the world consisting of my amazing (and very patient) wife and beautiful 3 year old daughter. We reside in the Mount Joy area of Lancaster County.
